The Scarlet Letter Villain

In the Scarlet Letter, the role of the villain is vague and non truly defined; it seems to be left up to the commentator to make their own decision. In the first three chapters we ar lead to believe that the villain will be an drench one, the prejudice of Hester Prynnes pregnancy. This is quickly dissolved when her save, Roger Chillingworth, arrives and discovers her condition. He recent becomes obsessed, with fingering out the identity of the childs father.
